Where to Stay in Nha Trang: Complete Guide for First-Timers

Dear reader: I visit every place I write about and use only my own original images and videos in my articles. This article contains affiliate links, which I may be compensated for at no extra cost to you. This allows me to continue creating original Vietnam content.

Thankfully, choosing where to stay in Nha Trang is pretty straightforward. If you want a beach vacation, you’ll want to stay somewhere along Tran Phu Street in the south or along Pham Van Dong Street in the north. These streets run along Nha Trang Beach and Hon Chong Beach, respectively.

If the beach is more of an afterthought for your Nha Trang trip, you have even more choices, as there are nice hotels inland in very convenient areas. These hotels (and their immediate areas) will generally be a bit quieter, too.

I visited Nha Trang again recently and spent time exploring the different beachside areas and hotels, some choices further inland, and visiting some of the city’s best attractions. I also took the cable cars over the ocean, which ended up being one of my favorite things (awesome views).

I put together a map below detailing where to stay in Nha Trang, along with some of my favorite activities in the city. Renting a scooter for a few days really helped me cover a lot of ground.

My first important bit of info is that Nha Trang’s airport, Cam Ranh, is about 45 minutes south of the main area of Nha Trang. I used the Grab app to order a taxi both ways, and each time the cost was about 420.000 VND (or about $16 USD).

This article covers things to do in Nha Trang, including riding the awesome cable cars over the ocean to VinWonders on Hon Tre Island.

Choosing a Hotel in Nha Trang

The Adamas Boutique Hotel — rooftop pool and bar

If you’re planning your first trip to Nha Trang (it’s growing in popularity), choosing a hotel here is thankfully much more straightforward than in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. On my recent trip to Nha Trang, I spent a lot of time visiting hotels, exploring the different areas on foot and by scooter, and checking out attractions all over the city.

All of the hotels that I recommend below are in great locations, one way or another. I toured all of them, and they’re all either right near the beach, near attractions, surrounded by places to eat and other conveniences, or some combination thereof.

I stayed at the Adamas Boutique Hotel (see on Agoda / Booking). Like I mentioned in the info box in the beginning, this is one of the best cost-to-value hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Vietnam. I stayed in the Deluxe Double or Twin (26m2), with City View, and paid under $50 per night. This included a buffet breakfast in a very nice breakfast hall.

The hotel is very clean, with a rooftop bar and small-ish pool. Nha Trang Beach is less than three minutes away. I rented my scooter from a great place right around the corner (here) for 200.000 VND per day. The only deposit was holding onto my driver’s license.

There is a convenience store right across the street, where you can get basic essentials like extra toothpaste, soap/shampoo, and bottles of water. The hotel does provide these, though in small quantities.

There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity and beyond. I ate at two restaurants right next door, IL MIO (Italian, pizza) and Restaurant Cilantro (Vietnamese, seafood).

Around the corner is another nice hotel called the December Hotel (see on Agoda / Booking). This is on a less-busy street nearby, slightly further inland, making it about five minutes from Nha Trang Beach.

Like the Adamas Boutique Hotel above, the December Hotel is nice and very clean. Around the corner from here, I had a very good smoked honey ham bagel and black coffee at Red Gate Bakery Cafe here.

Heading toward Nha Trang Beach on Tran Quang Khai Street is the Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is where I would stay in the immediate area if I wanted to be across the street from the beach.

The hotel is surrounded by a lot of convenience. It’s built on top of a Vincom Plaza mall, which has ATMs, a Starbucks, shopping, restaurants, and several other conveniences. And like I said, it’s directly on Tran Phu Street, right across from the beach.

But just a heads up: this is a very busy hotel and area. There’s a lot of activity here, as it’s very central, and this part of the beach is usually pretty busy. But it’s still beautiful and easy to walk over to, then walk along the beachside paths. There is a small path that extends several kilometers up and down the coast.

There are other nice hotels in this area, like the new-ish Iconique Hotel Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is directly across the street from the Adamas Boutique. This hotel opened in 2025.

The area where these four hotels are is about as far south along the coast as I would go if you want to maintain local convenience. Again, the four hotels are the Adamas Boutique, the December Hotel, the Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang, and the Iconique Nha Trang. They’re included on my map above.

I’ll now head further north along Tran Phu Street (north along the coast). A nice hotel that’s also directly across the street from Nha Trang Beach is the Citadines Bayfront Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking).

I took this photo of the Citadines while walking along Nha Trang Beach. This is another great choice if you want to be across the street from the beach.

Behind the Citadines, on Biet Thu Street, is the Liberty Central Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is a very convenient area, too, only about five minutes north of the previous selection of hotels I mentioned.

This is a solid mid-range hotel in Nha Trang. I’m a fan of the Liberty Central properties in Vietnam, having spent many nights at their different properties in Ho Chi Minh City (the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint is in a great location in HCMC).

Further north of the Citadines along the coast is the Novotel Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This hotel is also right on Tran Phu Street, directly across the street from Nha Trang Beach.

Not only is the Novotel across the street from the beach, but it’s about five minutes away from the iconic and central attraction along the beach, the Tram Huong Tower here. If you’ve seen any photos of Nha Trang, you’ve likely seen this tower in front of the beach.

This is sort of a “central point” in the city, especially near the beach. If you’re out walking along the beachside path, you’ll end up here quite easily. Le Thanh Ton Street heads towards the beach and Tran Phu Street, right in front of the tower.

Like the other areas mentioned above, this immediate area is very convenient. If you head inland (west), even more restaurants, bars, convenience stores, scooter rental places, and more. I had some great Western food at a restaurant called Alpaca. This is about 10 minutes inland from the tower, and about 10 minutes from the Novotel, too.

I’ll touch on three more great hotels north of Le Thanh Ton Street. Going further north along the coast, along Tran Phu Street, there’s the 5-star InterContinental Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is a well-respected hotel brand, and this location is in a great spot across from the beach (like so many hotels in Nha Trang!).

The InterContinental Nha Trang — a nice 5-star hotel in Nha Trang

Just up the street from the InterContinental is the Sheraton Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking), another solid 5-star hotel in Nha Trang.

The 5-star Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa

I would actually say that the Sheraton is probably a bit more convenient than the nearby InterContinental, even though the two hotels are only two minutes apart. Both hotels are across the street from Nha Trang Beach, but the Sheraton has a Pizza 4P’s on its ground floor, this one. And it’s also closer to the Lotte Mart (a grocery store) and Nha Trang Center (a shopping mall).

The Sheraton is about five minutes away from the Yersin Museum, a small museum dedicated to Alexandre Yersin. He was an immunologist and bacteriologist who studied, researched, and lived in Nha Trang for a long time.

Behind the Sheraton, further inland, is the Annova Nha Trang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is a couple of streets away from the beach (as you can see from my map at the top), but it’s right behind the Lotte Mart and Nha Trang Center. So it’s a very convenient hotel to stay in Nha Trang.

This concludes my first primary batch of hotels in Nha Trang. Any of these hotels is in a great area to stay in Nha Trang. It’s just a matter of budget, taste, and travel preference.

In general, the hotels directly across from the beach on Tran Phu Street are going to be busier because this is a happening place to stay. So if you want something quieter, I’d look at something more inland. Use my recommended hotels to help hone in on overall areas. There are a lot of other hotels around the hotels that I highlighted in the article so far.

I’m going to cover two more hotels now. These are north of the main area of Nha Trang, over the Tran Phu Bridge here. This leads to a few different attractions in Nha Trang (again, see my map), another one of Nha Trang’s beaches, and an overall area that’s more common with expats than with travelers.

It is still busy with travelers, just not quite as busy as further south. The following two hotels are directly across from the beach up here, Hon Chong Beach, along Pham Van Dong Street.

The Navada Beach Hotel (see on Agoda / Booking) is a great pick, right across from the beach. There’s a lot of activity here. A lot of convenience. And there are apartment buildings and long-term rentals scattered about.

The Daphovina (see on Agoda / Booking) is more of a boutique hotel that’s situated a couple of streets off the beach, about five minutes north of the Navada Beach Hotel.

If you want to stay in a slightly less touristy area of Nha Trang, that’s slightly quieter, but still with access to a beautiful beach, I’d look at these two hotels or other hotels around this area. I rode my scooter just north of here on a few different streets, and it quickly became pretty quiet and almost non-touristy.

I had a pretty simple and clean (healthy) meal nearby at Atlas Cafe here.

The two hotels mentioned above (the Navada Beach Hotel and the Daphovina Hotel) are near Hon Chong Beach.

I took this picture directly across the street from the Navada Beach Hotel on Hon Chong Beach.

Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beachgoers on Hon Chong Beach in Nha Trang, Vietnam

Sun loungers can be rented for around 50.000 VND per day.

One of my favorite attractions in Nha Trang is nearby, and this is just called Hon Chong, though it’s different from the beach. It’s a collection of rocks jutting out into the ocean that you can walk out on. Tickets are 30.000 VND each. From the collection of rocks, you can see Hon Chong Beach (plus a lot of other great views of the ocean and Nha Trang).

Here’s a video I filmed from this exact area. I’m inside the attraction entrance. I just stopped here to admire the view. Then afterward, I went and climbed down and out onto the rocks where those people are.

Don’t wear flip-flops!
