There are a lot of great hotels in Hoi An for all types of travelers, tastes, and budgets. The Old Town? Yes. The rice fields? Yes. Quiet, rejuvenating retreats? Yes. There are bigger properties, but what Hoi An specializes in is the boutique hotel experience. Many places are tastefully designed.
I live nearby, and I spent a couple of days recently getting updated information on the best hotels to stay in Hoi An for 2026. I’ve also added a handy map so you can see where each hotel is in relation to some of Hoi An’s attractions.
This article is meant to be supplemental to my far more detailed guide to where to stay in Hoi An. All photos and videos below were taken by me on location in and around Hoi An.
Hotels in Hoi An: My Top Picks
Instead of making a table of all 20 hotels, I’m choosing just a few of my favorites from the overall article. First, here’s a video I filmed at one of my top choices, the 4-star Silk River Hotel & Spa (see on Agoda / Booking).
This hotel is in a quiet location along the Thu Bon River just outside Hoi An Old Town. I like this because there’s a lot more to Hoi An than just the Old Town. Being down along the river will give you a different perspective of Hoi An.

Map of Great Hotels in Hoi An
Here’s a map I put together that shows the 20 hotels, along with Old Town, some of the rice fields, and some of my favorite things to do in Hoi An. You can view the full map here.
How to use this map: Ahoy! Click the arrow in the top left-hand corner to view the map’s layers. I’ve added the hotels in this article as black bed icons. Some of Hoi An’s attractions are the yellow stars.
5-Star Hotels in Hoi An
I’m a big fan of the La Siesta hotel chain in Vietnam. Besides Hoi An, they have great properties in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. All of their hotels are very nice and well-run.
The La Siesta Hoi An (see on Agoda / Booking) is on the western edge of Old Town. It’s a good location for a balance of quiet and convenience. From here, you can walk into the Old Town area in about 12 minutes. This guide covers the best time to visit Hoi An.

The RiverTown Hoi An Resort (see on Agoda / Booking) is a nice hotel on An Hoi Island, which is just south of Old Town over the small bridges. This is a great location, quiet, but with very easy access to Old Town. This is a good choice for families in Hoi An. There are two swimming pools: one in the front for adults, and a family-oriented pool in the back.

This is the 5-star Hotel Royal Hoi An Danang (see on Agoda / Booking). This is in a great location, just west of Hoi An Old Town.

The Moire Hoi An, Vignette Collection (see on Agoda / Booking), is in a unique location on Cam Nam Island just south of Hoi An Old Town. The hotel is right on the Thu Bon River. The outdoor swimming pool is in the back, with great river views.

4-Star Hotels in Hoi An
The Silk River Hotel & Spa (see on Agoda / Booking) is one of my favorite hotels in Hoi An. The hotel is located right in front of the Thu Bon River in a quiet area east of Old Town. This is a great 4-star hotel in Hoi An.
You’re also about 10 minutes from the bridge to the island where the Hoi An Memories Show takes place. This is part of my three-day Hoi An itinerary.

The La Charm Hoi An (see on Agoda / Booking) is in a great location, right near the 5-star Hotel Royal Hoi An that I mentioned above. This is a very popular hotel in a very convenient area of Hoi An.

The Laluna Hoi An Riverside (see on Agoda / Booking) is near the La Charm Hoi An, too. But this hotel is right on the Thu Bon River. This is also a great 4-star hotel in Hoi An.

The Cozy An Boutique (see on Agoda / Booking) is a smaller hotel east of Old Town. It’s on the way toward the Silk River Hotel (further east) mentioned above. This is a solid boutique hotel in Hoi An.

3-Star Hotels in Hoi An
There’s no shortage of well-located 3-star hotels in Hoi An, either. I’ve visited all of these. Each one has its own benefits, depending on your travel preferences. All are great choices.
The Hoian Central (see on Agoda / Booking) is one of the few hotels that’s as close to Hoi An Old Town as you can get. It is literally only steps east of Old Town. Super central, great location.

The Lion King Hotel (see on Agoda / Booking) is one of the more popular hotels in Hoi An. It will likely be hard to get a room here, but I would definitely check for availability if you’re looking for a 3-star hotel in Hoi An. This is a great choice, just north of Hoi An Old Town.

The Rokas Boutique Hotel (see on Agoda / Booking) is a small, 3-star hotel on An Hoi Island, just south of Old Town. This hotel is around the corner from the 5-star RiverTown hotel (also on An Hoi Island) mentioned above. Great location.

The Merrily De Art (see on Agoda / Booking) is in an interesting location in Hoi An. It is on the edge of the rice fields in the north of town. There are a lot of local conveniences and places to eat. Certain rooms will have nice rice field views. From here, you could walk south into the Old Town area in about 15 minutes.

Rice Fields & Outside Town
There are several hotels and villa-like properties outside of the main area of Hoi An. These five hotels below are east of Old Town in an area called Cam Thanh. You’ll likely need to use the Grab app to get around, rent bicycles, or scooters. But these are all still great places to stay in Hoi An.
The Zest Villas & Spa (see on Agoda / Booking) is a unique place to stay in Hoi An. It’s down a quiet road, practically in the middle of Cam Thanh.

The Zen Retreat (see on Agoda / Booking) is right across the road from the Zest Villas & Spa. Both of these are two good choices if you want to be outside of the main action of Hoi An in a quieter setting.

The Chez Mimosa Rice Field Retreat (see on Agoda / Booking) is an affordable place to stay next to some great rice fields in Hoi An. Here’s a video I filmed at the Chez Mimosa. I did this so you could get an idea of just some of the rice fields in Hoi An. This is one of the smaller ones.

The Hoi An CoCo River Resort (see on Agoda / Booking) is in the same overall area, Cam Thanh, but it’s south along the Thu Bon River. This is a nice place to stay if you want something quieter with river views.

The ENSO Retreat (see on Agoda / Booking) is about as far outside of town as I would personally go. This is in a pretty quiet area, all the way on the eastern edge of Cam Thanh. The Hoi An CoCo River mentioned above is right around the corner.

Beach Hotels & Resorts in Hoi An
There are several hotels on and near Hoi An’s beaches (An Bang and Cua Dai). There are also beachside resorts. If you want beachside convenience, you’ll want to look for a hotel in the An Bang Beach area. I’ll share a few below.
The Palm Garden Resort (see on Agoda / Booking) is a nice 5-star resort right on the beach in Hoi An.

The Linh Seaside Villa (see on Agoda / Booking) is a nice choice, only steps away from the sand at An Bang Beach. This is a laid-back area to stay in Hoi An, with a lot of local convenience around, places to eat, etc.

The AIRA Boutique (see on Agoda / Booking) is another nearby choice, only steps away from An Bang Beach. Like the Linh Seaside, this is in a quiet location with a lot of convenience around.
