Vinhomes Central Park is my favorite park in Ho Chi Minh City. I come here a couple of times per week to walk or run through the paths. There are benches scattered throughout the park and plenty of open grass space. The park is quiet during the day but starts to get busy in the evening. The paths are well-lit for walking or exercising at night — plus, it’s much cooler outside.
The park area is home to the Vinhomes condominiums and Landmark 81, the tallest building in Vietnam. It has a food court, restaurants, an ice skating rink, a gym, and a shopping mall on the lower levels. On the higher floors, there are private apartments, more restaurants, an observation deck, and the luxury hotel, the Landmark 81, Autograph Collection (Agoda / Booking).
Here’s a video I filmed from one of the observation towers along the Saigon River at the park.
I would plan to spend at least one hour at the park — closer to two hours if you take your time.

Vinhomes Central Park Location

The park is located in Binh Thanh District, along the Saigon River. Binh Thanh is north/northeast of Districts 1 and 3. As I mentioned in the beginning, the park area is home to Landmark 81, the skyscraper seen from many areas of Ho Chi Minh City. It’s the tallest building in Vietnam and the seventeenth tallest in the world.
Unless you’re staying at the hotel inside Landmark 81 or an apartment in the Vinhomes condominiums — which are right next to the park — the best way to get here is by using the Grab app. You can download it here. A GrabCar ride from District 1 or 3 to the park will cost around 60.000 to 80.000 VND.
There are two nearby HCMC Metro stations on Line 1 (here and here), but at the time of writing, there isn’t a clear (or safe) walkway from either one to the Vinhomes area. You’ll have to walk along and cross over some busy highways until they build a dedicated pedestrian bridge. Read more about getting around Ho Chi Minh City here.
Visiting Vinhomes Central Park

There are several walking paths throughout Vinhomes Central Park. Most of the paths are flat, but there are slight elevation changes from time to time. Also, some of the paths split off into other paths with a few steps up or down. But the steps are avoidable, as you can continue on the path you were on.

Throughout the park, there are plenty of benches and places to sit. Vending machines with cold drinks are scattered around the park, as are garbage bins. There are free and public bathrooms, too. It’s all clean and well-maintained. There are always park staff landscaping or otherwise maintaining the grounds.

There is a huge, open grass area in the middle of the park. During the day, it’s usually empty. In the late afternoon, people begin gathering and doing all sorts of things: flying kites, badminton, kicking balls, chatting, playing games, lying on the grass, reading, or just relaxing. This goes on throughout the park, as there’s a lot of grass space for activities.

There are courts for tennis, basketball, and badminton (these are for residents or guests). There is also an area to practice your golf putting. There are also several huts to rent for outdoor BBQs. I enjoy catching free whiffs of Vietnamese BBQ when families are cooking.

There are two children’s playgrounds on opposite ends of the park. One of them is towards the marina, and the other is near the public bathrooms.

The mini Japanese garden and koi fish pond area are definitely worth checking out. As are the two viewing towers along the Saigon River. These are not wheelchair accessible and will require climbing several stairs to the top — definitely worth doing if you can.

Visiting the park during the day or at night provides equally great experiences. During the day, it’s quieter, and the views of the river and Landmark 81 are great — but it can be hot. At night, it’s much cooler, the paths are illuminated, and the park is busier. The skyscraper is also lit up, which by itself makes the park worth visiting at night.

Hi, is vinhomes open for public? “Is it free to do a photoshoot there?”
Thank you
If you’re talking about the park, yes it’s free and open to the public. I’ve seen a lot of people and groups doing photoshoots at the park.
