I recently stayed at the Indochine Palace Hotel in Hue for a few days while exploring the city. There is a lot to see in Hue. If you’re planning on visiting Hue, I recommend at least two full days in the city. If you had three full days, you wouldn’t be rushed.
There are around a dozen UNESCO sites to see in Hue, and they’re all spread out a bit, mainly south of the city. You’ll want to see Hue Imperial City, and the three best royal tombs in Hue: Khai Dinh, Minh Mang, and Tu Duc.
The Indochine Palace Hue is in a central location, where it’s very easy to get Grab taxis to visit Hue’s attractions.
For a great boutique hotel in Hue, see the Scarlett Boutique Hotel. I stayed here for three days, too.

Staying at Indochine Palace Hue

The Indochine Palace has 222 rooms over 17 floors, with a mixture of standard rooms and suites. The standard rooms range from 35 sqm, 45 sqm, and 55 sqm, with the suites being 68 sqm and 103 sqm.
I really liked the design/architecture of the hotel. It has a mix of modern and colonial-style architecture.

I stayed in the Palace Double Room, which was 35 sqm. I found this to be more than enough space for two people. I paid about $60 USD per night, and this included the morning breakfast buffet. I visited during the low season (September) and got this deal on Agoda.
The room has a sofa chair and a decent desk if you needed/wanted to work. The room was very comfortable for the little amount of time you’d likely be spending inside. As I said, there is a lot to see outside the hotel in Hue!

The hotel was quiet during my stay. I hardly heard any other guests in the hallways. No noise from the rooms next door. I interacted with several staff members during my stay, from the front desk to the restaurant, the cleaning staff, and the doorpeople, and everyone was very friendly.
The hotel has a restaurant, bar, spa, kids’ area, some shops, and a gym next to the outdoor swimming pool.

The breakfast buffet was good, with everything you’d expect from a luxury hotel buffet. I like to start my mornings with something a bit lighter, so I opted for a freshly-made four-egg omelet with vegetables and Vietnamese black coffee. I also had fresh fruit on the side, mainly dragon fruit.

But by far, the biggest thing that stood out to me was the outdoor swimming pool. It’s huge and clean, and situated in a nice outdoor setting behind the hotel. It’s more than big enough to exercise and swim laps.

Small, final note: A random thing, which I haven’t experienced at any other hotel before, is that every night around 7 or 8 PM, the staff came around asking rooms if we needed more towels. The cleaning staff makes up the room earlier in the day and replenishes towels then. I would consider this part of their good service, but maybe too good service if you wanted quiet time at night.
Bottom line: The swimming pool is reason enough to stay here. I would stay here again when visiting Hue.
