I discovered Indian food on a trip to Penang, Malaysia, a few years back. Since then, I’ve had recurring cravings for Indian food. I’ve eaten at Lazeez Indian Restaurant in Da Nang probably a dozen times over the last few months. The restaurant is attached to a highly-rated budget hotel, the Mai Boutique Villa.
Lazeez Indian Restaurant is on my list of great places to eat in Da Nang.

Getting There

Lazeez Indian Restaurant is located in Son Tra in Da Nang, about 5 to 10 minutes north of the My An area. The restaurant is on Pham Van Dong Street, near one of my favorite beach areas, East Sea Park. You can hire a GrabBike or GrabCar taxi to get here. If you have a motorbike, there is free parking at the restaurant.

Lazeez has a pretty extensive menu of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. There are about eight menu pages like the ones I’ve pictured below.

Butter chicken is one of the more popular Indian dishes, and it’s one of my favorites. It was the first Indian food I tried years ago in Penang, Malaysia. It’s cubes or chunks of white chicken breast inside a spiced tomato and butter sauce. It’s delicious. You can also add naan (a flatbread) for dipping.

Lately, I’ve been getting Lazeez’s Daily Thali special. It’s a side menu consisting of a combination meal. You can choose from Veg of the Day, Meat of the Day, or Meat of Special. I’ve been getting the Meat of the Day combo for 235.000 VND. More specifically, I’ve been getting the chicken tikka.

My Meat of the Day special, with chicken tikka, dal fry, chicken tikka masala, tandoori roti, and gulab jamun (the chocolate dessert ball). I found this meal very filling by itself. For reference, I’m 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds. The chicken tikka on the top right is excellent.

I’ve also had their chicken biryani and aloo chana chaat. The chicken biryani is a mixed rice dish with chicken, and the aloo chana chaat has white chickpeas, boiled potatoes, onions, tomatoes, spices, and chutneys.

If you’re new to Indian food, like I was a few years ago, try something simple like butter chicken with naan. It’s a great dish. You can also go with chicken tikka, which I love, too.
In addition to food, Lazeez has a full drink menu. There’s coffee, lassi (yogurt beverage), tea, beer, milkshakes, cocktails, juice, liquor, and wine.
