In my articles covering the best hotels in District 1 and District 3, I touched on a handful of the best 5-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. Now, I’ll focus exclusively on luxury hotels, covering the nicest places to stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Because I live in HCMC, I know where these hotels are. I know their exact areas, how convenient the location is, what attractions are nearby, and if there’s easy food and drinks locally. Below, you’ll find my hotel recommendation, as well as details about its amenities, nearby things to do, and pros and cons.
Five-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City are reasonably priced compared to their counterparts in the United States. Some of the best five-star luxury hotels can be had for $100 per night, and even the city’s top luxury hotels start at around $200 to $300 USD per night.
A few of my recommendations are outside the popular areas of Districts 1 and 3. You’ll want to download and use the Grab app, as it’s the best way to get around Ho Chi Minh City. On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve also written a guide on budget hotels in HCMC.
I personally use Agoda to book hotels in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Map of Saigon Luxury Hotels and Attractions
Here’s a map of my favorite 5-star hotels discussed in the article. I’ve also included some of HCMC’s top attractions so you can see their proximity to the hotels. You can view the full map here.
How to use this map: Ahoy! Click the arrow in the top left-hand corner to view the layers. The purple bed icons are my favorite Ho Chi Minh City luxury hotels. The yellow stars are just some of the city’s best attractions.
My Favorite Luxury Hotels in District 1
1. The Park Hyatt Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | None |
World-recognized brand | |
Hyatt Concierge – available 24 hours for any business need | |
Nice outdoor swimming pool |
The Park Hyatt Saigon and the Caravelle Saigon Hotel are arguably the best-located luxury hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House is situated right opposite both.
The Park Hyatt is also one of the city’s most expensive hotels. However, like all Park Hyatts, everything here is top-notch. There are 245 hotel rooms and 23 suites.
I filmed this video outside of the Park Hyatt in downtown District 1.
If you want top-tier luxury without the over-the-top opulence, chandeliers, and shininess of The Reverie Saigon, the Park Hyatt Saigon is the best choice.
The 1 King Bed City View and the 1 King Bed Garden View can be had for ~$300+ per night. Depending on when you are traveling, I have seen rooms as low as $260 per night.
2. Caravelle Saigon Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location (right in front of the Ho Chi Minh Opera House) | Older building (built in 1959, refurbished in 1998) |
Outdoor swimming pool (open 24 hours for in-house guests) | |
Best views overlooking the Opera House | |
Vegas Club e-gaming casino |
As mentioned in the Park Hyatt Saigon section above, the Caravelle Saigon Hotel‘s location is arguably the best in Ho Chi Minh City. The Opera House is right outside, steps from the Caravelle.
The Caravelle is the tallest of the hotels in front of the Opera House and provides the best views. Here’s a video I filmed outside the Caravelle, the Opera House, and the Hotel Continental. This is a great area.
The Caravelle has a good-sized outdoor pool on the 7th Floor that is open 24 hours for in-house guests. They also offer a fitness center that is open 24 hours a day for in-house guests.
The Vegas Club e-gaming casino is also located inside the hotel.
Rooms at the Caravelle Saigon Hotel can be had for around $200 per night.
3. The Reverie Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | You may be tempted to stay in the room all day |
Outdoor swimming pool | The extravagance may be too much for some |
Top-tier amenities | |
Private butlers available |
The Reverie Saigon is arguably the most over-the-top luxury hotel on my list. In fact, it may be a little too over the top for some. The hotel employs professional butlers trained by the British Butler School.
The hotel is located inside the Times Square Saigon building, occupying the 27th through 39th floors. Every room will have a great view, though some have both a city view and a Saigon River view. The Reverie is situated in a prime location, right in the middle of Nguyen Hue Street in District 1.
Here’s a video of The Reverie I filmed from Nguyen Hue Street.
Everything about The Reverie is lavish, opulent, and, if I may say so, sir, sparkly.
Rooms at The Reverie Saigon can cost ~$220+ per night, depending on your travel dates and room selection. I recently saw the Deluxe King and the Deluxe Twin for this price. You may be able to find an even better deal than that.
Enjoy your beluga sturgeon caviar, sir.
4. The Myst Dong Khoi

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | Not as fancy as other choices |
New-ish (opened in 2016) | |
Great price for 5-stars | |
Unique design and decor | |
24-meter rooftop pool |
The Myst Dong Khoi is a 5-star hotel that’s probably the most affordable of the luxury hotels. It’s also in the same great area, right behind The Reverie Saigon.
The hotel is located on a smaller street, Ho Huan Nghiep, right off the popular Dong Khoi Street.
The Myst Dong Khoi is a 3-minute walk from the Saigon River. Going the opposite way, it’s a five-minute walk from the Opera House and an eight-minute walk to the Ho Chi Minh Statue.
Rooms at The Myst Dong Khoi can be had for $130 per night.
5. La Siesta Premium Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Brand new (opened in 2023) | Some rooms have no windows |
Excellent location | Low-floor rooms don’t have as great a view |
Boutique and intimate | |
Great price for what’s offered | |
Awesome rooftop views |
The La Siesta Premium is a brand-new luxury boutique hotel built in 2023. The hotel is in the Ben Thanh area of District 1, close to Ben Thanh Market.
The hotel is conveniently located on Ly Tu Trong Street, four minutes from Ben Thanh Market, and less than 10 minutes from the Independence Palace (Reunification Palace).
Here’s a video I filmed of the La Siesta while standing on Ly Tu Trong Street.
The Twilight Sky Bar Sai Gon on the 12th Floor provides some of the city’s best views. The rooftop pool also has great views but is a little smaller than other hotel pools on my list.
Some rooms have better views than others – request a high floor when booking.
Rooms at the La Siesta Premium can be had for $150 per night.
6. New World Saigon Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Interesting and excellent location | None |
Big outdoor pool | |
Tennis court | |
24/7 fitness center |
The New World Saigon is a luxury 5-star hotel in a very interesting location in District 1. It’s on a triangular island in the middle of converging roads, directly between the Ben Thanh area (Ben Thanh Market) and Bui Vien walking street.
If you are looking for a luxury hotel close to Bui Vien, this is it. As mentioned, it’s also near Ben Thanh Market. Both are about a five-minute walk away.
This is a pretty big hotel, having 533 guestrooms and suites.
The New World Saigon has one of the biggest outdoor pools in Ho Chi Minh City and a 24/7 fitness center, sauna, and tennis court. The hotel can arrange companion tennis players if you need someone to play with. It also has professional coaches and any equipment you’ll need.
Rooms here can go for $180 per night.
7. JW Marriott Hotel & Suites (InterContinental Saigon)

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | None |
20-metre outdoor pool | |
Four hotel restaurants | |
Worldwide luxury brand |
The InterContinental Saigon was reflagged into JW Marriott in 2024. It is situated away from the hotel cluster of Nguyen Hue and Dong Khoi streets but is in its own great area.
It is directly across from Ho Chi Minh City Book Street and less than 5 minutes walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon and the Sai Gon Central Post Office. This is a great location.
The hotel has 305 rooms and panoramic city views. It is attached to a small mall called the mPlaza, which has conveniences like ATMs, restaurants, and Starbucks.
The hotel itself has four restaurants, including Yu Chu, a restaurant specializing in Cantonese and Peking cuisine; the Library, with international cuisine and cocktails; Basilico, a casual Italian trattoria restaurant; and Market 39, a seafood and international buffet.
Rooms at the JW Marriott can be had for $220 per night, but I have seen flash deals for $170 per night.
8. Fusion Original Saigon Centre

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | None |
Inside a shopping mall | |
Amazing outdoor pool views | |
Newly built (2022) |
The Fusion Original Saigon Centre is a brand-new luxury hotel built in 2022. Like every other hotel on my list, it’s in a great location.
The hotel is located inside the Saigon Centre and Takashimaya Shopping Mall. This immediately offers additional and easy dining and shopping options, steps from the hotel.
The view from the outdoor swimming pool is one of the best pool views in the city.
Rooms at the Fusion Original Saigon Centre usually cost at least $120 per night, but I have seen their Original King and Original Twin Rooms for as low as $100 per night.
9. Lotte Hotel Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Located on the Saigon River | No walk-out balconies |
Huge outdoor swimming pool | |
24/7 fitness center | |
Good restaurant choices in-house | |
Great price for five stars |
The Lotte Hotel Saigon is one of about six hotels located along the Saigon River. It is one of the better riverside hotels and is a very popular place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
I filmed this video outside the Lotte Hotel, across from the Saigon River.
The hotel features 283 rooms, and each one has a separate working and sitting area. The pool is the widest outdoor swimming pool in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel’s fitness center is open 24/7.
The Lotte Hotel Saigon offers 24/7 shuttle and limousine service. A complimentary shuttle bus is available on request. Their business center offers internet access, PCs, fax, high-speed color printers, binding service, and scanners.
There are four hotel restaurants, including an international buffet at The Canvas, Japanese at Yoshino, Italian at Ottimo House Trattoria, and Chinese at the Crystal Jade Palace. There is also Delica Hans, a bakery, the Pool Bar, and the Legend Lounge, a lobby bar and lounge.
Rooms at the Lotte Hotel Saigon can go for as little as $120 per night.
10. Hotel Majestic Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent river location | Small outdoor pool |
The rooftop restaurants have among the best views in Saigon | Not as posh as other five-star hotels |
Great price for five stars | Older building |
Private room balconies |
The Hotel Majestic Saigon is a 5-star hotel located on the Saigon River and is probably the best-located river hotel. Because of its location directly across from the river, it is a very popular place to stay.
Here’s a video I filmed outside the Hotel Majestic. This is a great area across the street from the river.
The Majestic is nearly 100 years old, having been originally built in 1925. Over the years, it has been upgraded and refurbished. The hotel currently has 174 rooms and suites featuring full marble bathrooms and private room balconies. This hotel would probably be best described as “French colonial-style luxury.”
The hotel’s two rooftop bars and restaurants (M Bar and Breeze Sky Bar) have some of the best river views in Ho Chi Minh City.
Rooms at the Hotel Majestic Saigon cost around $120 per night, depending on when you’re traveling.
My Favorite Luxury Hotel in District 2
11. Mia Saigon

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Very quiet location | Not near the city’s main attractions |
New-ish (2019) | |
Small and intimate | |
On the Saigon River | |
Close to Thao Dien |
Mia Saigon is one of the nicest luxury boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
The hotel sits on the Saigon River in a very quiet area of An Phu, right next to Thao Dien in District 2. The Saigon River is in the hotel’s backyard.
The 25-meter outdoor swimming pool overlooks the river. Mia Saigon has 35 spacious rooms and 17 lavish suites.
Being located here in District 2 can be a pro or a con, depending on what you’re looking for in your Ho Chi Minh City vacation. Most of the city’s worthwhile tourist attractions are in Districts 1 and 3, but hiring a GrabTaxi is easy and convenient. A trip from the hotel to the attractions in the center of the city won’t take longer than 15-20 minutes.
You can download the Grap app here. It’s one of my recommended apps for traveling in Vietnam.
A great option is to visit the city center attractions and then return to the quiet sanctuary of Mia Saigon. Rooms here start around $180 per night.
My Favorite Luxury Hotels in District 3
12. La Vela Saigon Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Best rooftop pool in Ho Chi Minh City | Longer walk to attractions compared to alternatives |
Big movie theater on-site | |
Great price for what’s offered | |
Big fitness center – open 24/7 |
La Vela Saigon is one of the most popular five-star hotels in the city.
It has the city’s biggest and best rooftop infinity pool, and its views are among the best in Ho Chi Minh City.
If you just want to check out the pool and rooftop views, La Vela offers a pool day pass for 350.000 VND for adults and 250.000 VND for children.

On the downside, the hotel’s location is a pinch further from the city’s attractions compared to the Hotel des Arts Saigon below.
The War Remnants Museum is about a 20-minute walk away. It’s a bit further from there to other attractions, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, Sai Gon Central Post Office, and the Independence Palace.
Keep in mind, though, that this isn’t a bad or boring walk at all. District 3 is nicer to stroll through than District 1. There are a lot more trees and greenery lining the roads. You can totally base yourself at La Vela, have access to the pool and facilities, and easily walk to the attractions.
La Vela Saigon has three in-house restaurants, a sky bar and lounge, a 24/7 fitness center, and a spa. It also has a movie theater on-site. Rooms here start around $120 per night.
13. Hôtel des Arts Saigon, MGallery Collection

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | None |
Small and intimate | |
All rooms are non-smoking | |
Pet-friendly | |
Nice rooftop pool and bar area |
Besides Mia Saigon in District 2 and La Siesta Premium in District 1, the Hotel des Arts Saigon and the Mai House Saigon Hotel (mentioned below) are the other great luxury boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Hotel des Arts is in a fantastic location in District 3, within short walking distance of the city’s best attractions. The city’s hustle is right outside the hotel, yet it still provides a quiet place to retreat after exploring Saigon.
It’s 10 minutes from the War Remnants Museum, seven minutes from the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon and the Sai Gon Central Post Office, and eight minutes from the Independence Palace. This area of the city is highly walkable.
The Hotel des Arts Saigon has a rooftop bar, the Social Club, and an infinity pool with great city views.
This is a very nice hotel.
14. Mai House Saigon Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Excellent location | None |
New-ish (2019) | |
Good value for the money |
The Mai House Saigon Hotel in District 3 is another luxury boutique hotel in a great location, offering excellent value for the money.
The hotel is located on a quieter street, and the surrounding area is very walkable. The War Remnants Museum is less than five minutes away. The Independence Palace is 10 minutes away, while the Notre Dame Cathedral and Sai Gon Post Office are about 15 minutes away.
The hotel has a 24/7 fitness center, spa, sauna, and outdoor pool.
Afternoon High Tea is offered every day from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There are afternoon tea packages: Mai House High Tea: 850.000+ VND/set for 2 guests (including Tea/Coffee), and Royal High Tea: 1.450.000+ VND/set for 2 guests (including Tea/Coffee & Sparkling Wine Bottle).
Like the Hotel des Arts Saigon above, this is a very nice boutique hotel. These are the best options if you’re looking for a luxury boutique hotel in District 3.
Rooms at the Mai House Saigon Hotel cost around $130 per night. This is a very overlooked gem in District 3.
My Favorite Luxury Hotel in Binh Thanh
15. Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Part of Marriott | Not within walking distance of attractions |
Self-contained, convenient area | Sweaty palms |
Next to a great park (Vinhomes Central Park) |
Vinpearl Landmark 81 is housed in the Landmark 81 building. This is the tallest building in Vietnam and the second-tallest in Southeast Asia. It’s also among the tallest in the world.
Hotel rooms here begin on the 47th Floor and go upward until the 71st Floor.
I filmed this video right outside the Landmark 81.
Other than the hotel, Landmark 81 has an observation deck, apartments, restaurants, and a mall on the lower levels.
This is a quieter area of Ho Chi Minh City. Vinhomes Central Park, one of my favorite parks in the city, is right across the street.

Taking a GrabTaxi from here to the attractions of Districts 1 and 3 will take about 10-12 minutes.
This would be a nice place to base yourself for a few days, especially with easy access to the park across the street. A grocery store, WinMart, is on the basement level of Landmark 81. The immediate area has several high-rise condominiums, with coffee shops and eateries on the ground level.
The Vinpearl Landmark 81 is part of Marriott Bonvoy.
