24 Best Hotels in Ho Chi Minh City: A Local’s Guide With Map

Dear reader: I visit every place I write about and use only my own original images and videos in my articles. This article contains affiliate links, which I may be compensated for at no extra cost to you. This allows me to continue creating original Vietnam content.

I consider several things when recommending a hotel to family or friends visiting Vietnam. Because I’ve lived in Ho Chi Minh City, I know where these hotels are. I know their exact areas, how convenient the locations are, what attractions or things to do are nearby, and if there’s easy access to places to eat.

Every traveler has different financial limits, hotel tastes, and vacation values, so I’ve kept that in mind as I put together my list. You’ll find excellent hotels in the budget, mid-range, and luxury categories.

For specific areas, see my guides to hotels in District 1 and District 3.

Location is very important to me. Everything that I recommend is in a great location, one way or another. Getting around HCMC with taxis (GrabTaxi and GrabBike) is so easy that sometimes it’s better to stay outside the busy city center and have a quiet hotel to retreat to after a day of exploring Ho Chi Minh City.

If you’re in trip-planning mode, you’ll want to check Vietnam visa requirements, learn how to get a SIM card, and make sure you have the necessary travel apps. If you have any questions, check my Vietnam travel FAQ guide or ask me in my free Saigon travel planning Facebook group.

I personally use Agoda to book hotels in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Map of My Favorite Hotels and Attractions in Ho Chi Minh City

Here’s a map of what I consider to be the best hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. I’ve also included some of the city’s best attractions and things to do. You can view the full map here.

How to use this map: Ahoy! Click the arrow in the top left-hand corner to view the layers. The purple bed icons are my favorite hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. The yellow stars are some (just some) of the city’s attractions.

Best Hotels in District 1

1. Caravelle Saigon Hotel

The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on the left and the five-star Caravelle Hotel Saigon on the right in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The Caravelle Saigon Hotel (next to the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House)

ProsCons
Excellent location (right in front of the Ho Chi Minh Opera House)Older building (built in 1959, refurbished in 1998)
Outdoor swimming pool (open 24 hours for in-house guests)
Best views overlooking the Opera House
Vegas Club e-gaming casino

The Caravelle Saigon Hotel‘s location is arguably the best in Ho Chi Minh City. The Opera House is right outside, steps from the Caravelle.

I filmed this video outside of the Caravelle Hotel, the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, and the Hotel Continental. This is a great area.

The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House in front of the Caravelle Saigon Hotel and the Hotel Continental Saigon in District 1

The Caravelle is the tallest of the three hotels in front of the Opera House (the others being the Park Hyatt Saigon and the Hotel Continental) and provides the best views.

The Caravelle has a good-sized outdoor pool on the 7th Floor that is open 24 hours for in-house guests. They also offer a fitness center that is open 24 hours a day for in-house guests.

The Vegas Club e-gaming casino is also located inside the hotel.

Rooms at the Caravelle Saigon can be had for around $200 per night.

2. The Park Hyatt Saigon

ProsCons
Excellent locationPricey
World-recognized brand
Hyatt Concierge – available 24 hours for any business need
Nice outdoor swimming pool

The Park Hyatt Saigon and the Caravelle Saigon Hotel are arguably the best-located luxury hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House is situated right opposite both.

Here’s a video I filmed of the Park Hyatt in downtown District 1.

The Park Hyatt Saigon in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

The Park Hyatt is also one of the most expensive hotels in the city. However, like all Park Hyatts, everything here is top-notch. There are 245 hotel rooms and 23 suites.

If you want top-tier luxury without the over-the-top opulence, chandeliers, and shininess of The Reverie Saigon (mentioned below), then the Park Hyatt Saigon is the best choice.

The 1 King Bed City View and the 1 King Bed Garden View can be had for ~$300+ per night. Depending on when you are traveling, I have seen rooms at the Park Hyatt for as low as $260 per night.

3. Hotel Continental Saigon

Exterior of the white French colonial Hotel Continental Saigon in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, also showing a pink Porsche Boxster parked outside the hotel
The Hotel Continental in District 1 (a great area to stay)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent locationNot as upscale as nearby options
Great price for the locationNo pool
Heritage hotel with French colonial history (the hotel was built in 1880)
Good breakfast spread

The Hotel Continental Saigon is a 4-star hotel right next door to the Park Hyatt Saigon. It benefits from the same great location in front of the Opera House but without the 5-star pricing of the Hyatt.

This is the same video from the Caravelle Hotel section above. The Hotel Continental, the Caravelle, and the Park Hyatt are all in this immediate area.

The Ho Chi Minh City Opera House in front of the Caravelle Saigon Hotel and the Hotel Continental Saigon in District 1

This hotel was originally built in 1880 and named after the Hotel Continental in Paris. It has been refurbished and upgraded over the years but still maintains a lot of its original charm.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool. This hotel would be a great choice to stay in for its location.

Rooms at the Hotel Continental can be had for $70 per night.

4. La Siesta Premium Saigon

ProsCons
Brand new (opened in 2023)Some rooms have no windows
Excellent locationLow-floor rooms don’t have as great a view
Boutique and intimate
Great price for what’s offered
Awesome rooftop views

The La Siesta Premium Saigon is a brand-new luxury boutique hotel built in 2023. The hotel is in the Ben Thanh area of District 1, close to Ben Thanh Market.

Here’s a video I filmed outside the La Siesta Premium on Ly Tu Trong Street.

The La Siesta Premium boutique hotel on Ly Tu Trong Street in District 1

The hotel is conveniently located on Ly Tu Trong Street, four minutes from Ben Thanh Market, and less than 10 minutes from the Independence Palace (Reunification Palace).

The Twilight Sky Bar Sai Gon on the 12th Floor provides some of the city’s best views. The rooftop pool also has great views but is a little smaller than other hotel pools on my list.

Some rooms have better views than others – request a high floor when booking.

Rooms at the La Siesta Premium Saigon can be had for $150 per night.

5. Calista Saigon Hotel

ProsCons
Great locationNo swimming pool
Excellent price for the location
Good breakfast buffet

The Calista Saigon Hotel is in the Ben Thanh area of District 1, just a short walk away from the La Siesta Premium Saigon.

I filmed this video outside the Calista Saigon in District 1.

Calista Saigon Hotel on Ly Tu Trong Street in District 1

It benefits from being in the same great location: it is five minutes from Ben Thanh Market and eight minutes from the Independence Palace.

Also, one of my favorite gyms for travelers to Ho Chi Minh City, Mach’s Gym, is five minutes away. This gym offers an affordable day pass (80.000 VND) and a weekly pass (200.000 VND). It is small but air-conditioned and has everything needed for a workout while traveling.

Also, the Bui Vien area is less than a ten-minute walk away.

Rooms at the Calista Saigon Hotel can be had for $25 per night.

6. The Myst Dong Khoi

Exterior of The Myst Dong Khoi Hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, showing a unique-looking white building with balconies that have plants
The Myst Dong Khoi in District 1

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent locationNone – this is a great hotel
Great price for 5-stars
Unique design and decor
24-meter rooftop pool

The Myst Dong Khoi is a 5-star hotel that’s probably the most affordable of the luxury hotels. It’s also in the same great area, right behind The Reverie Saigon (up next). It also has some of the more unique and interesting decor you’ll find in any hotel in Saigon.

The hotel is located on a smaller street, Ho Huan Nghiep, right off the popular Dong Khoi Street.

The Myst Dong Khoi is a 3-minute walk from the Saigon River. Going the opposite way, it’s a five-minute walk from the Opera House and an eight-minute walk to the Ho Chi Minh Statue.

Rooms at The Myst Dong Khoi can cost ~$130 per night.

7. The Reverie Saigon

The five-star Reverie Hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, showing the glitzy entrance with signage
The Reverie Saigon on Nguyen Hue Street in District 1

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent locationYou may be tempted to stay in the room all day
Outdoor swimming poolThe extravagance may be too much for some
Top-tier amenities
Private butlers available

The Reverie Saigon is arguably the most over-the-top luxury hotel on my list. In fact, it may be a little too over the top for some. The hotel employs professional butlers trained by the British Butler School.

I filmed this video outside The Reverie Saigon on Nguyen Hue Street.

The Reverie Saigon, next to the Cafe Apartments on Nguyen Hue Street in District 1

The hotel is located inside the Times Square Saigon building, on the 27th through 39th floors. Every room has a great view, though some have both a city view and a Saigon River view. The Reverie is situated in a prime location, right in the middle of Nguyen Hue Street in District 1.

Everything about The Reverie is lavish, opulent, and, if I may say so, sir, sparkly.

Rooms at The Reverie Saigon can be had for ~$220+ per night, depending on when you are traveling and room selection. I recently saw the Deluxe King and the Deluxe Twin for this price. You may be able to find an even better deal than that.

Alfred: Your beluga sturgeon caviar, sir.

8. Huong Sen Hotel

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Top-tier locationYou may get jealous of nearby luxury hotels
Excellent price for the location
Surrounded by restaurants and bars
Steps from the Saigon River and the city’s attractions

The Huong Sen Hotel is in a prime location on Dong Khoi Street, just steps from the Saigon River in one direction and the Ho Chi Minh Statue and Opera House in another.

I filmed this video outside the Huong Sen Hotel. This is a great area to stay.

The Huong Sen Hotel on Dong Khoi Street in District 1

Location, location, location. This hotel is in the same general location as The Myst Dong Khoi and is around the corner from The Reverie

There is a small fitness room and a small outdoor pool. They are not fancy. If all you care about is location, this hotel is in the heart of District 1. But it will be lacking in amenities.

Rooms at the Huong Sen Hotel can be had for $40 per night.

9. Vien Dong Hotel

Outside the Vien Dong Hotel in Bui Vien, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, showing motorbikes, taxis, locals, and hotel guests along a busy street
The Vien Dong Hotel on Pham Ngu Lao Street (Bui Vien area)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent Bui Vien locationWhile some like the Bui Vien area, it can be a tourist trap
Good park directly across the streetNo pool
Lots of food choices nearby
Great overall budget option

The Vien Dong Hotel is the best budget hotel in Bui Vien. It sits directly on Pham Ngu Lao Street, right across from the September 23rd Park.

I filmed this video outside the Vien Dong Hotel on Pham Ngu Lao Street.

The Vien Dong Hotel on Pham Ngu Lao Street in Bui Vien

This is the best hotel if you want to stay in the Bui Vien area. It is situated in a prime spot, surrounded by countless eateries and bars.

Vien Dong offers a decent breakfast. The hotel does not have a pool. Some rooms have a great park view.

Rooms at the Vien Dong Hotel can be had for $40 per night.

10. Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel

Outside the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel on Pasteur Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, showing the hotel's entrance, lobby bistro, and hotel guests
The Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint on Pasteur Street (great location)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent locationSmall rooftop swimming pool
Awesome rooftop views
Great breakfast
Clean and spacious rooms

The Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel is a four-star hotel in an excellent location, right around the corner from the Ho Chi Minh Statue.

I filmed this video on the rooftop of the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint. This hotel is in a great location in D1.

Filmed from the rooftop of the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint Hotel in District 1

This hotel is on Pasteur Street, a long street that runs from the Saigon River in D1 all the way up to D3. There are many great places to eat on this road. Directly across from this hotel, down an overlooked alley, is Pasteur Street Brewing Co. This is a popular craft beer chain with a few locations in Ho Chi Minh City. This Pasteur Street location was their original taproom.

Right outside the hotel to the left is Eddie’s Diner. Normally, I wouldn’t recommend eating at an American diner while in Vietnam, but this place is outstanding. Eddie’s has three locations in Ho Chi Minh City; everything on their menu is excellent, and the portions are huge. Highly recommend.

Rooms at the Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint can be had for $90 per night, but I have seen flash deals for as low as $60 per night.

11. Lotte Hotel Saigon

The Lotte Hotel Saigon

ProsCons
Located on the Saigon RiverNo walk-out balconies
Huge outdoor swimming pool
24/7 fitness center
Good restaurant choices in-house
Great price for five stars

The Lotte Hotel Saigon is one of about six hotels located along the Saigon River. It is one of the better riverside hotels and is a very popular place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

The hotel features 283 rooms, each with a separate working and sitting area. The pool is the widest outdoor swimming pool in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel’s fitness center is open 24/7.

Outside the five-star Lotte Hotel Saigon, across from the Saigon River, in District 1

The Lotte Hotel Saigon offers 24/7 shuttle and limousine service. A complimentary shuttle bus is available on request. Their business center offers internet access, PCs, fax, high-speed color printers, binding service, and scanners.

Four hotel restaurants include an international buffet at The Canvas, Japanese at Yoshino, Italian at Ottimo House Trattoria, and Chinese at the Crystal Jade Palace. There is also Delica Hans, a bakery, the Pool Bar, and the Legend Lounge, a lobby bar and lounge.

Rooms at the Lotte Hotel Saigon can be had for around $120 per night.

12. Hotel Majestic Saigon

ProsCons
Excellent river locationSmall outdoor pool
The rooftop restaurants have among the best views in SaigonNot as posh as other five-star hotels
Great price for five starsOlder building
Private room balconies

The Hotel Majestic Saigon is a 5-star hotel located on the Saigon River and is probably the best-located river hotel. Because of its location directly across from the river, it is a very popular place to stay.

I filmed this video outside the Hotel Majestic. It’s across the street from the Saigon River in D1. This is a great area.

Outside the Hotel Majestic Saigon, across from the Saigon River, in District 1

The Majestic is nearly 100 years old, having been originally built in 1925. Over the years, it has been upgraded and refurbished. The hotel currently has 174 rooms and suites featuring full marble bathrooms and private room balconies. This hotel would probably be best described as “French colonial-style luxury.”

The hotel’s two rooftop bars and restaurants (M Bar and Breeze Sky Bar) have some of the best river views in Ho Chi Minh City.

Rooms at the Hotel Majestic Saigon cost around $120 per night, depending on when you’re traveling.

13. New World Saigon Hotel

Outside the New World Saigon Hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The New World Saigon Hotel in District 1

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Interesting and excellent locationNone
Big outdoor pool
Tennis court
24/7 fitness center
Great hotel for families

The New World Saigon is a luxury 5-star hotel in a very interesting location in District 1. It’s on a triangular island in the middle of converging roads, directly between the Ben Thanh area (Ben Thanh Market) and Bui Vien walking street.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel close to Bui Vien, this is it. As mentioned, it’s also near Ben Thanh Market. Both are about a five-minute walk away.

This is a pretty big hotel, having 533 guestrooms and suites.

The New World Saigon has one of the biggest outdoor pools in Ho Chi Minh City and a 24/7 fitness center, sauna, and tennis court. The hotel can arrange companion players for tennis if you need someone to play with. It also has professional coaches and any equipment you’ll need.

Rooms at the New World Saigon can go for $180 per night.

Best Hotels in District 2

14. Mia Saigon

Outside the Mia Saigon luxury hotel in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, showing a large white hotel, the hotel's signage, and an old-time luxury car
The Mia Saigon in District 2 (a quiet area)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Very quiet locationNot near the city’s attractions
New-ish (2019)
Good for couples
On the Saigon River
Close to Thao Dien

Mia Saigon is one of the nicest luxury boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.

The hotel sits on the Saigon River in a very quiet area of An Phu, right next to Thao Dien in District 2. The Saigon River is in the hotel’s backyard.

The 25-meter outdoor swimming pool overlooks the river. Mia Saigon has 35 spacious rooms and 17 lavish suites.

The hotel’s location here in District 2 can be a pro or a con, depending on what you’re looking for in your Ho Chi Minh City vacation. Most of the city’s worthwhile tourist attractions are in Districts 1 and 3, but hiring a GrabTaxi is easy and convenient. A trip from the hotel to the attractions in the center of the city won’t take longer than 15-20 minutes.

Visiting the attractions in the city center and then coming back to the quiet sanctuary of Mia Saigon is a good plan. Rooms here start around $180 per night.

15. Common Inn Thao Dien

Outside the Common Inn in Thao Dien, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, showing the white hotel and its entrance
The Common Inn (Thao Dien, District 2)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Great location in Thao DienNo swimming pool
Clean rooms
Communal space on the roof

The Common Inn is a budget boutique hotel off one of the more popular roads in Thao Dien, Xuan Thuy. The hotel sits on a smaller, quiet street, but it’s easily walkable up to the main restaurants, cafes, and bars on Xuan Thuy.

I filmed this video outside the Common Inn. It’s on a quiet street in Thao Dien.

The Common Inn in Thao Dien – a great and quiet location in Thao Dien.

The hotel is small, with 5 floors and 29 rooms. The building and its hotel rooms are clean and well-equipped. Plus, there’s a communal space to hang out.

This is in a great, quiet location in Thao Dien. Rooms at the Common Inn cost around $30 per night.

16. Glenwood City Resort

Outside the Glenwood City Resort in Thao Dien, District 2, showing the front entrance and a motorbike parking security guard
The Glenwood City Resort in Thao Dien (District 2)

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Good (not great) location in Thao DienNot the best location in Thao Dien
Swimming pool
Good value for money

The Glenwood City Resort is located in the back of Thao Dien in District 2.

Being in the back of Thao Dien, it’s a bit further from the action of popular Xuan Thuy Street (in front of Thao Dien). However, a GrabTaxi throughout Thao Dien costs between 20.000 – 30.000 VND per trip.

You can also walk from the Glenwood City Resort to most areas of interest in Thao Dien in about 10-15 minutes, which I’ve done myself numerous times.

Glenwood has a swimming pool, sauna, kid’s playground, and fitness center.

Also, one of my personal favorite coffee shops in Thao Dien is just a few minutes away – Bonjour Cafe The Art. It is worth checking out just for the decor – I’ve never seen anything like it.

17. Hôtel des Arts Saigon, MGallery Collection

Outside one of the best 5-star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, the Hotel des Arts Saigon, showing a wooden entrance door, big awning, and private driveway
The Hotel des Arts Saigon in District 3

Address: Google MapsHotel Website

ProsCons
Excellent locationNone
Small and intimate
All rooms are non-smoking
Pet-friendly
Nice rooftop pool and bar area

The Hotel des Arts Saigon is one of my favorite hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. Besides Mia Saigon in District 2 and La Siesta Premium in District 1, this hotel and the Mai House Saigon Hotel (mentioned below) are the other great luxury boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.

Hotel des Arts is in a fantastic location in District 3, within short walking distance of the city’s best attractions. The city’s hustle is right outside the hotel, yet it still provides a quiet place to retreat after exploring Saigon.

It’s 10 minutes from the War Remnants Museum, seven minutes from the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon and the Sai Gon Central Post Office, and eight minutes from the Independence Palace. This area of the city is highly walkable.

The Hotel des Arts Saigon has a rooftop bar, the Social Club, and an infinity pool with great city views. Rooms here start around $180 per night.

This is a very nice hotel.

18. La Vela Saigon Hotel

ProsCons
Best rooftop pool in Ho Chi Minh CityLonger walk to attractions compared to alternatives
Amazing rooftop views
Big movie theater on-site
Great price for what’s offered
Big fitness center – open 24/7

La Vela Saigon is one of the most popular five-star hotels in the city.

It has the city’s biggest and best rooftop infinity pool. The rooftop views are among the best in Ho Chi Minh City.

If you only want to check out the pool and rooftop views, La Vela offers a pool day pass for 350.000 VND for adults and 250.000 VND for children.

La Vela Saigon in the distance from the rooftop of my condo in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
La Vela Saigon, seen from the rooftop of my condo in Phu Nhuan

On the downside, the hotel is slightly further from the city’s attractions than the Hotel des Arts Saigon above.

The War Remnants Museum is about a 20-minute walk away. It’s a bit further from here to get to the other attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral, Sai Gon Central Post Office, and the Independence Palace.

Keep in mind, though, that this isn’t a bad or boring walk at all. District 3 is nicer to stroll through than District 1. There are a lot more trees and greenery lining the roads. You can totally base yourself at La Vela, have access to the pool and facilities, and easily walk to the city’s attractions.

La Vela Saigon has three in-house restaurants, a sky bar and lounge, a 24/7 fitness center, and a spa. It also has a movie theater on-site. Rooms here start around $120 per night.

Good value for the money

The Mai House Saigon Hotel in District 3 is another luxury boutique hotel in a great location, offering excellent value for the money.

The hotel is located on a quieter street, and the surrounding area is very walkable. The War Remnants Museum is less than five minutes away. The Independence Palace is 10 minutes away, while the Notre Dame Cathedral and Sai Gon Post Office are about 15 minutes away.

The hotel has a 24/7 fitness center, spa, sauna, and outdoor pool.

Afternoon High Tea is offered every day from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There are afternoon tea packages: Mai House High Tea: 850.000+ VND/set for 2 guests (including Tea/Coffee), and Royal High Tea: 1.450.000+ VND/set for 2 guests (including Tea/Coffee & Sparkling Wine Bottle).

This is a very nice boutique hotel like the Hotel des Arts Saigon above. These are the best options for luxury boutique hotels in District 3.

Rooms at the Mai House Saigon Hotel can cost around $130 per night.

20. Bach Suites Saigon

ProsCons
Great location for first-time visitors to SaigonBecause of its busy area, certain rooms have the tendency to be noisy
Relatively new (2018)
Nice decor and furnishings

Bach Suites Saigon is a nice four-star boutique hotel located in District 3. It is directly in front of a roundabout with what is called Turtle Lake in the center.

Here’s a video I filmed outside the Bach Suites Saigon at Turtle Lake in District 3.

From this area, you can walk to all the best attractions in District 3 (the War Remnants Museum) and District 1 (Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon). The War Remnants Museum is seven minutes away, while the Notre Dame Cathedral and the other attractions nearby are an eight-minute walk.

Bach Suites Saigon is in a really cool little area of District 3. Rooms here can go for around $100 per night.

The Orchids Saigon Hotel is a four-star hotel in an excellent location on Pasteur Street in District 3. It is actually right around the corner from the Bach Suites Saigon above. This is a very popular hotel, and rooms are often booked well in advance. This boutique hotel has only 39 rooms.

There is a coffee lounge, a ground-floor restaurant, and a 9th-floor restaurant. The pool is indoor but has open windows and is airy.

The Orchids Saigon Hotel is a five-minute walk to the War Remnants Museum, seven minutes from the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Sai Gon Central Post Office, and six minutes from the Independence Palace (Reunification Hall).

Rooms at the Orchids Saigon Hotel start around $100 per night.

ProsCons
Excellent location in District 3The rooms and hotel may be a bit dated for some
Three minutes from the War Remnants Museum
Great price for the location
There is a pool, but it can get crowded

The Victory Hotel Saigon is an excellently located three-star budget hotel in District 3. Because of its location, price, and history dating back to 1968, it is one of the more popular hotels in District 3.

I filmed this video outside the Victory Hotel Saigon in District 3. This is a great area to stay. Personally, I like District 3 better than District 1.

Outside the Victory Hotel Saigon in District 3

The War Remnants Museum is less than three minutes away. Plus, the Independence Palace in District 1 is about six minutes away, directly down Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa Street

The hotel has an in-house Vietnamese restaurant, the Hong Ha Restaurant, a lobby bar, as well as Victory Restaurant and Coffee, which is attached to the hotel right out front. There is a breakfast buffet, a gym, and an outdoor pool on the 6th Floor.

Rooms at the Victory Hotel Saigon go for around $30 per night.

ProsCons
Part of MarriottNot within walking distance of attractions
Self-contained, convenient areaSweaty palms
Next to a great park (Vinhomes Central Park)

Vinpearl Landmark 81 is housed in the Landmark 81 building. It is the tallest building in Vietnam and the second-tallest in Southeast Asia.

I filmed this video outside the Landmark 81. If you want a hotel with great views, this is it.

Outside the Vinpearl Landmark 81 with sweaty palms

Hotel rooms here begin on the 47th Floor and go upward until the 71st Floor.

Landmark 81 has an observation deck, apartments, restaurants, and a mall on the lower levels in addition to the hotel.

This is a quieter area of Ho Chi Minh City. Vinhomes Central Park, one of my favorite parks in the city, is right across the street.

Vinhomes Central Park with grass, families, apartments on the left and the Vinpearl Landmark 81 building in the distance in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Taking a GrabTaxi from here to the attractions of Districts 1 and 3 will take about 10-12 minutes.

This would be a nice place to base yourself for a few days, especially with easy access to the park across the street. A grocery store, WinMart, is on the basement level of Landmark 81. The immediate area has several high-rise condominiums, with coffee shops and eateries on the ground level.

Vinpearl Landmark 81 is part of Marriott Bonvoy. Rooms here go for around $250 per night.

ProsCons
Quiet location and quiet hotelIn my opinion – none
Good neighborhood to wander around
Thoughtful rooms and amenities
Good price

If you want a quiet, affordable boutique hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, the Maison De Camille Hotel is a great choice.

I filmed this video outside the Maison De Camille Hotel in Binh Thanh District.

The Maison De Camille boutique hotel in Binh Thanh District

The hotel is clean, has excellent service, and great breakfast.

The only downside (for some) is its location: it is not within walking distance of the attractions of Districts 1 and 3. Personally, I like Binh Thanh and wandering around it. It’s a different area of the city worth exploring.

However, it is just off a main road, and hiring a GrabTaxi to view the attractions in D1 or D3 is quite easy. A GrabTaxi from the hotel to the Ho Chi Minh Statue in District 1 will be about 60.000 VND. For a GrabBike (moto-taxi), about 25.000 VND. It will be about a 10-minute ride. You can download the Grab app here. Grab is one of my recommended travel apps for Vietnam.

Because the hotel is located in Binh Thanh and right off Dien Bien Phu highway, you can easily access Thao Dien in District 2.

Rooms at the Maison De Camille go for around $40 per night.
