Sala Danang Beach Hotel Review: Great Breakfast and Location

The Sala Danang Beach Hotel is one of the higher-rated (and more popular) beachside hotels in Da Nang. I stayed here for a few days in 2024 and wanted to write a personal review of the hotel.

I also wrote personal reviews of the Risemount Premier Resort Danang and the Fivitel Danang Hotel.

About the Sala Danang Beach Hotel

Sala Danang Beach Hotel Location

Da Nang is split into two distinct sides: the city and the beach. The Han River, running north-south, splits the two sides.

The Sala Danang Beach Hotel is located on the beach side of Da Nang in an area called Son Tra. The very popular and touristy area of My An is about 15 minutes south (walking), which has a number of An Thuong streets. Son Tra is still touristy, but far less so than the My An area to the south.

Walking to My Khe Beach from this hotel will take less than five minutes. Here are the directions if you need them for such a short journey!

You’ll want to download and make use of the Grab app to get around Da Nang. You can download the Grab app here. This app is similar to Uber, and it allows you to book moto-taxis, private cars, regular taxis, and bigger SUVs.

The Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is only 15 minutes from the hotel. To get to the hotel from the airport, you’ll want to use the Grab app to book a taxi or prearrange an airport transfer through Klook.

Check out my guides on visiting Lady Buddha, the Marble Mountains, and My Son Sanctuary, all of which can be accessed from the hotel by hiring a GrabCar or GrabTaxi directly in the Grab app. You can also take day trips from Da Nang to Hoi An.

Staying at the Sala Danang Beach Hotel

My room at the Sala Danang Beach Hotel, a Suite Partial Sea View room.
My Room at the Sala Danang Beach Hotel (Suite Partial Sea View)

I stayed at the Sala Danang for a few days. My room was called the “Suite Partial Sea View” and is listed as being 45 square meters. I found it more than big enough. The bathroom was also big, too, with a nice walk-in shower area.

This room (including the great breakfast) can be had for around $70 USD per night. This will, of course, depend on when you’re traveling. They have smaller rooms as well, like the Superior Double Room (25 square meters) that can be had for around $40 USD per night (including breakfast).

I personally used Agoda to book this hotel. It is my go-to choice for booking hotels in Asia.

The hotel has two breakfast areas. I didn’t know this when I booked and was told upon arrival. One of them is pretty big, with good lighting, plenty of places to sit, and a lot of food choices. The other breakfast area is smaller, quieter, and for “upgraded” rooms.

If you have an upgraded room, you don’t have to sit in the private breakfast area. I ate in both areas.

The bottom line is the Sala Danang Beach Hotel is a very popular and well-run hotel near the beach in Da Nang. After staying here, I’m not surprised that it has the reviews it does. It’s currently rated over 9.0 out of 10 on both Agoda and Booking.com.

The breakfast was great, and the staff members I interacted with during my stay were all friendly.

If you enjoy high-rise hotels, you’ll like the city or sea view rooms and the rooftop infinity pool on the 25th floor. There is also a lounge/restaurant up here.

When I stayed here, there was a minimart right next to the hotel. This made it very convenient to buy extra bottles of water or small snacks. There was also a place to rent scooters directly across the street.

If you’re visiting Da Nang or elsewhere in Vietnam, you’ll want to make use of the Grab app to get around. It will make your vacation very convenient. I also wrote an article on my recommended travel apps for Vietnam.

I would definitely stay at the Sala Danang again.
