I first moved to Da Nang from the USA in 2018. The best areas to stay in Da Nang are Ngu Hanh Son (My An), Son Tra, and Hai Chau. Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra are on the beach side of Da Nang, while Hai Chau is on the city side. If you choose the city side, you’d want to stay on the riverfront of Hai Chau on Bach Dang Street.
Here’s a video I filmed walking onto My Khe Beach in Da Nang. This beach access spot is across the street from the Monarque Hotel (Agoda / Booking). This is a great location to stay in Da Nang.
The Hai Chau riverfront, Son Tra, and My An beachside areas are popular and convenient. Taxis between the areas or around the city are cheap and easy. Using the Grab app, most taxi rides will cost around $4 or $5 USD. Below are my favorite hotels, and I’ve included a handy map of their locations and some of Da Nang’s attractions.
If you’re in trip planning mode, check my guide on the best time to visit Da Nang and how to get around. If you prefer hotels on the beach, here’s my guide to Da Nang’s beach resorts. Here’s my sample one-day Da Nang itinerary, and this article covers more things to do in Da Nang.

Here’s a map of my favorite hotels in Da Nang. I’ve also included some of Da Nang’s best attractions so you can see where they are in relation to the hotels. You can view the full map here.

1. Risemount Premier Resort Da Nang

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great location | Not a hotel for city or ocean views |
| Friendly and helpful staff | |
| Good value for money | |
| Two swimming pools |
I stayed in the 5-star Risemount Premier for 10 days. I wrote a review here. This hotel is in a great location. It’s in the center of Nguyen Van Thoai Street, about a 10-minute walk to My Khe Beach. The hotel is surrounded by coffee shops, eateries, and other shopping. There’s also a great laundry service right across the street – 20.000 VND (less than $1 USD) per 1 KG of clothes. Drop it off, and they’ll wash, dry, and fold your clothes, then put them in a bag ready to go. The hotel has two swimming pools: one on the ground floor and the other on the 4th floor.
The rooms are clean and spacious. All of the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good, but just a little limited for me personally. But this is a very convenient hotel that can be had at a great price.

The hotel has four floors, so getting in and out is very easy. If you value location and convenience, this is a good place to stay in Da Nang. The hotel is less than 15 minutes from the Da Nang International Airport (DAD).
2. Monarque Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Across the street from the beach | Not surrounded by as many eateries as other hotels |
| Tastefully decorated, clean rooms | |
| Boutique feel and service |
This four-star boutique hotel is located on Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra. My Khe Beach is across the street – about two minutes away. Its unique decor and style might not be for everyone, but if you like elegance, it’s one of the highest-rated hotels in Da Nang. The hotel has 75 rooms, but is run more like a boutique hotel. There is great attention to detail and guests’ overall experience. This is a great hotel for couples or a romantic holiday. The Monarque offers guests complimentary afternoon tea every day from 2 PM to 5 PM on the 12th floor. The Monarque Hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport.
3. Fivitel Da Nang Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Cheap – excellent value for money | Limited breakfast buffet |
| Among the best hotel views in Da Nang | Not a location for easy beach access |
| Very nice and helpful staff | Some room bathrooms are slippery |
The Fivitel Da Nang is one of the best value-for-money hotels in Da Nang. I stayed here for an entire month while waiting for my apartment in Son Tra to open. Throughout my stay, I interacted with dozens of staff members, from the doormen to the front desk and breakfast staff – everyone was fantastic. Here is my review of the Fivitel Da Nang.
The Fivitel is riverside, not beachside. You can walk to My Khe Beach in about 20 to 25 minutes, take a GrabTaxi, or ride a scooter. The hotel has a free private underground parking garage if you want to rent a scooter for a few days while visiting Da Nang.
The views, especially the river-view rooms, are among the best in Da Nang. There are rooms with river or ocean views. I stayed in both room types on the 17th and 19th floors. I personally liked the river view better. Seeing up and down the Han River and the Dragon Bridge is amazing.
The rooms are fully equipped, with comfortable beds, couches, private balconies, and good desks. There is also a breakfast buffet, though a bit limited.
Some of the rooms have bathtubs with showers, and others have walk-in showers. I stayed in both types of rooms. The room with the bathtub and shower combo was a little slippery. If you don’t need a bathtub, make sure to ask for a room with a walk-in shower. The Fivitel Da Nang is less than 15 minutes from the airport.
4. Golden Lotus Grand Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Newer hotel (2022) | None |
| Clean and comfortable rooms | |
| Awesome rooftop and infinity pool | |
| Great breakfast |
This newer four-star hotel opened in 2022 and is in the center of the My An area, on the corner of Le Quang Dao and An Thuong 34. It’s less than 10 minutes from the beach. The benefit of this hotel is that it’s surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, small eateries, and convenience stores. There is a lot to wander to, eat, or drink in a 5 to 10-minute radius. There are rooms with city or sea views and private balconies. The hotel’s infinity pool on the 12th floor and its rooftop area, as a whole, have awesome views. The breakfast buffet is great. The Golden Lotus Grand is less than 15 minutes from Da Nang International Airport (DAD).
5. Sala Danang Beach Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Close to the beach | None |
| Great city or sea views from higher floors | |
| Awesome breakfast buffet | |
| Excellent view from rooftop pool |
The Sala Danang is a great four-star hotel in Son Tra. I stayed here for three days (here is my review of the hotel). It’s less than three minutes from the beach. The breakfast buffet is excellent. It’s in a big dining room with plenty of seating and numerous international food options. There’s an omelet station and a coffee and espresso station. There’s also a smaller, private breakfast area for certain rooms.

The rooms are well-equipped, with couches, desks, nice bathrooms, and private balconies. This is a tall hotel, so higher-floor rooms get excellent views of the ocean or the city. The outdoor infinity pool on the 25th floor has awesome beach and Son Tra Mountain views. The Sala Danang Beach Hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport.
6. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| I hope you like monkeys | Unable to walk anywhere |
| Among the best resorts in Vietnam | Pricey |
| Private beach, quiet resort |
This is one of the nicest private resorts in Vietnam. There are classic rooms, villas, suites, and private pools. Because of its secluded location on the northern side of the Son Tra Mountain on the Son Tra Peninsula, the InterContinental is about 40 minutes from the Da Nang International Airport. Son Tra Mountain is home to wild monkeys. You will see them in and around the resort. On your way to the resort, you’ll pass the Lady Buddha.
This luxury hotel is popular for those wanting quiet time and privacy away from downtown Da Nang. If you want easy on-foot access to Da Nang’s popular areas (Hai Chau and My An) and beaches (My Khe Beach), this hotel isn’t for you. You can’t walk anywhere from this location. But hiring a taxi is very easy. When I visited a couple of weeks ago, there were numerous taxis right outside the hotel. You can also use the Grab app. A trip from the hotel to the popular areas takes about 25 to 30 minutes.
7. TIA Wellness Resort

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Designed entirely around wellness | The resort’s focus isn’t for everyone |
| Numerous spa treatment packages | 30-minute walk to the popular area |
| Clean private beach and pool area |
Award-winning beachfront resort with private pool villas. TIA Wellness has an extensive menu of therapeutic treatments. The Wellness Inclusive has two treatments per night, totaling 80 minutes per person. Over 20 different massages and treatments are available on TIA’s Wellness Menu. This is in addition to daily wellness practices, including breathwork, tai chi, and yoga. The Retreat Inclusive requires a minimum booking of three nights. It includes one retreat therapy and two wellness therapies per night, totaling 140 minutes per person.
The Retreat Menu adds several therapy choices. Also included is a personal TIA wellness guide who will customize the entire journey, including plant-based full-board meals. Again, this is in addition to daily wellness practices, including breathwork, tai chi, and yoga. Breakfast can be delivered to your room, on the beach, or at the buffet. This resort used to be the Fusion Maia Da Nang but was rebranded into the independent TIA Wellness Resort.
8. Sandy Beach Non Nuoc Resort

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| On Non Nuoc Beach | Not within walking distance of the popular area |
| Great price for a beach resort | Rooms and facilities are a bit dated |
| Close to Marble Mountains |
This is a great budget resort on a private section of Non Nuoc Beach. The 4-star beachfront resort opened in 2004 and has 198 rooms. The resort is not within walking distance of the popular My An area. There aren’t many restaurants nearby to walk to off-property – some, but not as many as being closer to My An and My Khe Beach.
The Marble Mountains are just up the road, about a 15 to 20-minute walk from inside the resort. You can rent a scooter to get around or take taxis. The resort is 12 minutes (by car/scooter) from Da Nang’s My An area and My Khe Beach (to the north) and about 30 minutes (by car/scooter) from Hoi An (to the south). Read about getting from Da Nang to Hoi An.
9. HAIAN Riverfront Hotel

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great riverside location | Can be noisy |
| Cheap price | |
| Steps from eateries, bars, cafes | |
| Dragon Bridge and river views |
The HAIAN Riverfront is a four-star hotel in the city center on the river in Hai Chai. The promenade across the street is nicely done and perfect for walking along the river or exercising. Views of the Dragon Bridge are just outside the hotel. Besides the river and walking path across the street, Bach Dang Street is loaded with bars, restaurants, and shopping.
Then, behind the hotel on Tran Phu Street, it’s more of the same. The pink Da Nang Cathedral is behind the hotel. Bikini Bottom Express, around the corner, is a great place to eat. The Han Market is five minutes up the road. The Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture is 10 minutes away. The hotel is on busy Bach Dang Street, so noise may be an issue if you’re a light sleeper. The hotel supplies earplugs as a gesture.
10. Novotel Danang Premier Han River

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Excellent Han River and city views | None |
| Right across from the river | |
| Professional yoga classes |
This five-star hotel is located north, along the Han River in Hai Chau. It is directly opposite one of the more recognizable and unique-looking buildings in Da Nang, the Da Nang Administrative Centre. The spa on the 6th floor is open every day from 9 AM to 9 PM. A big fitness center is open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM. There are also professional yoga classes three times per day for $2 USD per class. Classes are closed every Thursday and Sunday.
The Novotel Premier has 328 rooms, suites, and 90 serviced apartments ranging from studios to three bedrooms. The Da Nang History Museum is five minutes away. This hotel is just up the street from the Hilton Da Nang, another nice hotel on the river. The Da Nang International Airport is 15 minutes away.
11. TMS Hotel Da Nang Beach

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Across the street from My Khe Beach | Not the biggest pool for family swimming |
| Awesome room and rooftop views | |
| Great location | |
| Professional staff, clean rooms | |
| Good breakfast buffet |
The TMS Hotel is a 5-star hotel directly across the street from My Khe Beach in My An. The location is excellent. There are city-view suites, partial ocean-view suites, and ocean-front suites. All rooms have balconies. The in-house MÉLANGÉ SPA is open daily from 8 AM to 10:30 PM and has several beauty salon treatments, herbal therapies, and massages.
Their rooftop infinity pool on the 25th floor is one of the highest pools in Da Nang. The breakfast buffet is great. There are many choices for restaurants and bars just steps from the hotel. It’s also near convenience stores and places to rent bikes. Da Nang International Airport is 15 minutes from the hotel.
12. Furama Resort Danang

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great location – on the beach | Theme/decor may not be for everyone |
| Good swimming pool | A bit dated |
| One of the best spas in Da Nang (V-Senses) | |
| A lot of activities are available |
The Furama Resort is next door to the Pullman Danang Beach Resort, both of which are in great locations. Many of Da Nang’s beach resorts are further south along Vo Nguyen Giap Street, heading towards Hoi An. While some of them are nice, like the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa and the Danang Marriott Resort, they aren’t in areas with much to see off-property. But they are great self-contained resorts if that’s what you want.
The Furama and the Pullman Danang are good resorts in much better locations. They offer the best of both worlds: resort amenities and walking distance to Da Nang’s popular beach and the nearby area, My An. The Furama has interesting Vietnamese and French colonial-inspired decor, while the Pullman is more modern and maybe a pinch nicer overall. It’s worth mentioning that the Furama has one of the highest-rated spas in Da Nang: the V-Senses Wellness & Spa.
13. Pullman Danang Beach Resort

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great location – on the beach | None |
| Excellent breakfast | |
| Good outdoor pools | |
| Best resort for families |
The Pullman Danang is next door to the Furama Resort. It is operated by Accor. There are 186 rooms and cottages. Like the Furama, the Pullman is also on a private section of Bac My An Beach. There are tennis courts, yoga classes, a spa, a fitness center, and watersports. Dining options include Restaurant Epice, an all-day restaurant in a fully air-conditioned space. The Azure Beach Lounge is Pullman’s beachfront bar. The Infinity Bar has views of Pullman’s infinity ponds, outdoor pool, and ocean.
As mentioned above, the Pullman and the Furama are in good locations compared to the resorts further south. Here or the Furama is a great choice; it is just a matter of personal taste. The Pullman is maybe a bit nicer overall, with a different style, but the Furama’s decor is interesting, and it has one of the best spas in Da Nang. Both resorts are 15 minutes from the Da Nang International Airport. Use the Grab app to get around (download it here).
14. M Hotel Da Nang

Address: Google Maps • Hotel Website
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| New hotel (opened in 2024) | Certain rooms can be noisy at night |
| Directly across from My Khe Beach | The pool can get crowded |
| Rooms have great views | |
| Nice infinity pool on the roof |
This is one of the newer hotels on my list: it opened in 2024. The main highlight of the M Hotel Da Nang is its location, directly across the street from My Khe Beach. Earlier in the article, I mentioned the TMS Hotel Da Nang Beach, which is next to this hotel. They’re both in a great location.
The M Hotel is modern and clean, with 200 rooms and a nice infinity pool on the 28th floor. I have to say that this is a popular hotel, and the pool can sometimes be crowded. If you stay here, you’ll be able to make great use of My Khe Beach and its walking path. Sun loungers are available to rent for around 40.000 VND for the whole day, and there are roped-off swimming areas.

Hi
Planning a stay in Da Nang mid March next year. Stayed just outside Hoi An Old Town last year and visited Da Nang on for 2 separate days but want a longer stay this time. What are your thoughts on :
Grand Tourane
Shila Monogram Quangnam
Wyndham Golden Bay
Melia Beach Resort
Many thanks
Ann
Hey, Ann. Are you looking for a hotel between Da Nang and Hoi An, or do you want to be in Da Nang this time? Also, a normal hotel or a beach resort? The long stretch of road along the coast from Da Nang to Hoi An has many nice beach resorts (like the Shila and Melia), but it’s not the best area to step outside and be in the action (if that’s what you want). Also, as you know, the trip between the cities is only about 30-40 minutes.
Firstly, I would avoid the Wyndham Golden Bay. It’s not in a good location for exploring Da Nang — you’ll need to taxi everywhere. On your list, the Grand Tourane is a great location across from the beach. The Shila Monogram and the Melia are beach resorts — fine choices if that’s what you’re after. But they are not in great areas for walking and exploring on foot. The Shila is in between Da Nang and Hoi An — so if you plan to visit Hoi An AND Da Nang with taxis, this would be right the middle. If you want to reach out to me with more info, I could better help. Contact me here. Thanks for reading!
Thank you for your recommendations. It turns out there are several Golden Lotus Hotels in the area. A bit confusing. Golden Lotus Grand Hotel.
Do you happen to know how your recommended Golden Lotus GRAND hotel compare to the Golden Lotus Hotel that’s a few steps closer to the beach? Would you recommend that one as well?
Both hotels are in the same general location (My An), with the regular Golden Lotus closer to the beach. Probably better value overall at this hotel. The Golden Lotus Grand is a bigger property in a busier area. I would probably go with the normal one, closer to My Khe Beach for better value. Let me know if you need more recommendations than what’s on this list.
Thank you Anthony. We will go with your recs. We also looked at the Legacy Hoi An for our stay in Hoi An. There are some concerning reviews about poor management and run down condition. Have you personally stayed there before?
I have not stayed at the Legacy Hoi An. I know the area. It’s outside the Old Town area (not walking distance) near some of the rice fields. It’s a quieter area to stay if that’s what you’re after. I can give you some other recommendations for Hoi An if you like. Feel free to reach out.
This was very very helpful and informative for me, you had a lot of great information and insights.
I hope a lot more travellers get to visit your site as I’m sure they will appreciate the honesty of what you say.
I really loved the map you have in different colours to show the areas this way you can know what to expect, I personally wanted to be near all the bars and restaurants so that helped in choosing a hotel.
Thank you.
Thanks a lot, Izzi! Hope you’re planning went smoothly and you enjoy your time in Da Nang!
Thank you, very helpful and informative
